The first meeting was a blast. We started out by introducing everyone to everyone else, and then we watched a few videos about the FIRST Lego League so that everyone learned more about it, and knew the specifics of some of the challenges.

Then we decided who would do what job. We had a list of jobs, as follows:
Logo: This person designs an Astro Kids logo.
Website/blog (this is my job): Manages the website and posts on the blog to inform parents.
Pictures: Takes pictures of all new models and ideas to show to parents and to aid a rebuild of the model.
Trinkets: It is a FLL tradition to pass out little trinkets of your team at the tournament. The person who has this job determines what these are going to be and gets them.
Snacks: NOTE: This person does not bring snacks every week. This person simply organizes the snacks and who will bring them.
Mentor: This person finds inspirational people to come and speak to us for a few minutes at a meeting of ours.
Financials: This person keeps track of the financial aspects of our team.
Organizing/Cleanup: This person will organize all the Lego pieces and the other physical things that need organizing.
Logistics: This person will help figure out logistics with parents.
Assistant Coach: Is a general assistant to Brian.
T-shirts: Organizes the T-shirts.
We drew names out of a bowl. When someone's name was chosen, that
person would select a job out of the remaining available jobs. We had a bit of shuffling after this was over, and came up with this:

There are three jobs not taken. These will be performed by Brian, until further notice.
Then, we each chose an area that we would be working in: Building the robot, Programming the robot, or Researching about our biomedical engineering project.
